Community Development and Project Management
The client identified the need for a platform to connect community members with relevant projects based on their skills and availability. Despite the community's diverse skill sets, there was no centralized system to effectively link individuals to opportunities, leading to inefficiencies in project management and progress tracking.
The Problem
The community lacked a centralized platform that could effectively connect individuals with projects suited to their skills. Additionally, tracking project progress and contributions in a streamlined, organized way posed challenges, resulting in inefficiencies and missed opportunities for community development.
The Goal
The goal of the project was to create an intuitive platform that would match community members with projects based on their skills and interests, while also enabling the tracking of their contributions and project progress. The platform needed to improve collaboration, transparency, and overall project management.
Solution & Key Features
A user-friendly platform was developed with a User Dashboard that provided interactive views of service providers, filterable by availability, location, and skills. A Project Dashboard was introduced, where projects were color-coded and sortable by various criteria, allowing users to track the status of projects (to-be-assigned, assigned, in-progress, done). The platform also included Admin Profile Pages for managing administrative tasks and secure Authentication features for user sign-up and login.
Outcome & Impact
The platform streamlined the assignment and management of community projects, improving the visibility of service providers’ skills and availability. This fostered better collaboration between project managers and community members, ensuring that the right people were matched to the right projects. It also promoted efficient utilization of the community’s diverse skill sets, contributing to overall community development.
